A video shows a passenger climbing in between balconies on a Carnival cruise as several people cheer him on.

In a video posted by the industry website Cruise Hive, a male passenger is shown struggling to climb on a ledge on Carnival’s Mardi Gras cruise ship. According to Cruise Hive, the video first circulated on TikTok in April, but the original footage can no longer be found on the platform.

The man, who is dressed in a dark-colored shirt and denim shorts, is shown reaching his hand out to retrieve an item from another passenger standing on the balcony of the stateroom above. The video appears to be taken by a passenger on another cruise ship.

Four passengers — who appeared to be three young boys and a woman — were shown interacting with the man, waving and clapping as he attempted to climb down the ledge. The man eventually got down safely to the balcony below by using the door’s handle as a step.

Several voices could be heard shouting from afar, but what they said wasn’t audible. The video ended with the man exchanging a handshake with another passenger who was wearing a red shirt.

It’s not clear who the passengers were, or on which cruise the incident occurred.

“Consistent with our commitment to safety, disruptive behavior is not tolerated and any guest whose conduct affects the comfort, enjoyment, safety or well-being of other guests or crew,” Carnival stated on their website, adding that passengers who flout these rules may be disembarked and banned from sailing with the cruise line.

It’s not the first time passengers were caught on video flouting the rules on a Carnival cruise. In April, Carnival banned at least two passengers for life after a TikTok showed them fishing from their room’s balcony.

Carnival did not immediately respond to Insider’s requests for comment.
