Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg privately warned his staff of possible threats and intimidation in an email sent Saturday as the office appears poised to indict former President Donald Trump on criminal charges related to his 2016 campaign.

While Trump posted Saturday in all-caps on Truth Social calling on his supporters to “protest” and “take our nation back,” Bragg’s email sent the same day told staff “we do not tolerate attempts to intimidate our office or threaten the rule of law in New York,” Politico first reported.

“Our law enforcement partners will ensure that any specific or credible threats against the office will be fully investigated and that the proper safeguards are in place so all 1,600 of us have a secure work environment,” Politico reported Bragg wrote, though he did not mention the former president by name.

Representatives for the Manhattan DA’s office and Trump did not immediately respond to Insider’s requests for comment.

Trump is expected to be indicted following a criminal inquiry the New York prosecutors have been conducting related to a “hush money” payment to Stormy Daniels made two weeks prior to the 2016 presidential election that resulted in criminal charges against Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal attorney turned critic.

Cohen plead guilty to violating campaign finance laws related to the payment and has been cooperating with the Manhattan DA’s probe.
