Bilt
Bilt Rewards is famous for inventing a system that allows you to use a credit card to pay rent without service charges — and earn points while you’re at it.
Because rent is such a significant expense, the prospect of earning rewards for it is a big deal. You can use the rewards things like a discount on future rent payments or transfer them to airline and hotel partners for free travel.
Bilt Rent Day is a monthly Bilt Rewards promotion that occurs on the first day of every month. It includes a short list of fun ways to earn more points and get discounts with Bilt’s partner brands. Previously, we’ve seen the program give users things like free United Airlines elite status, 100% transfer bonuses, and the chance to earn up to 50,000 bonus points.
For January’s Rent Day, you can earn double points on non-rent purchases (up to 10,000 points), play trivia with Scott Rogowsky (remember him??) to win bonus Bilt points, and more.

We’re focused here on the rewards and perks that come with each card. These cards won’t be worth it if you’re paying interest or late fees. When using a credit card, it’s important to pay your balance in full each month, make payments on time, and only spend what you can afford to pay.
Point Quest with Scott Rogowsky
Remember the guy from that insanely popular HQ Trivia app a few years ago? He hasn’t been quizzing since early 2019, but Bilt is bringing back Scott Rogowsky to host its monthly Points Quest trivia event on January 1, 2023. It’s unclear if this will become a regular thing.
You’ll have 10 questions to answer and will win 50 points for each correct answer. If you answer all 10 questions correctly, you’ll get the opportunity to answer a bonus question worth 100 points.
Insider estimates that Bilt points are worth an average of 1.65 cents each when you convert them into airline miles or hotel points. That means you could potentially win a value of $9.90 — not a heart-stopping amount, but every point counts when you’re saving for your next vacation.

On the first day of each month, the Bilt Mastercard® will earn twice its normal rate for non-rent purchases. Here’s what you’ll earn:
- 6 points per dollar on dining (regularly 3 points per dollar)
- 4 points per dollar on travel (regularly 2 points per dollar)
- 2 points per dollar on all other purchases (regularly 1 point per dollar)
Once you earn a total of 10,000 points across all spending categories during Rent Day, your card will revert back to the normal earning rates. To be clear, your rent payment will not be bonused. Rent will continue to earn 1 point per dollar with the Bilt Mastercard®.
One important note: You must use your Bilt Rewards card at least five times each statement period to be eligible for this promotion.

SoulCycle ‘Rent Day Rides’
On the first day of every month, Bilt Rewards members can book a SoulCycle class for themselves and receive a free bike for a friend. There are 56 participating SoulCycle locations around the country.
You can book your bikes via the SoulCycle app, the Bilt Rewards app, or Soul-Cycle.com.
The bottom line on Bilt Rent Day
Bilt Rewards is a points program that you should seriously consider if you rent. The points are valuable, and they’re easy to rack up since rent is the biggest expense for many of us.
Also remember that Bilt has a referral program. You’ll earn 2,500 Bilt points for each friend you refer to the Bilt Mastercard® — and 10,000 bonus points after you successfully refer five members. You can earn up to 2,025,000 points from referrals, and you don’t even need to be a Bilt Mastercard® cardholder.
